MomentUM Seminar: Genetics of Uveal Melanoma (Marc-Henri Stern)

MomentUM seminars aim to foster innovative ideas and collaborations in the field of uveal melanoma.

Speaker: Dr. Marc-Henri Stern, Scientist Emeritus, Team DNA Repair and Uveal Melanoma, Inserm U1339 / CNRS UMR3666, Institut Curie, Paris (France)

Talk: Genetics of uveal melanoma
Genetic factors contribute to the onset of uveal melanoma. These genetic factors include high-penetrance risk mutations, accounting for familial cases, as well as low-penetrance risk variants, accounting for contrasting incidences of the disease in various human populations. Dr. Stern will review recent progress in both high- and low-penetrance risk factors, highlighting the underestimated role of these predisposing factors.
